Approximately 300,000 animals are used for research, testing, and teaching (RTT) in New Zealand every year.
While the NZ Government releases some information on where and how these animals are used, the industry as a whole still remains incredibly well-hidden.
As the main defenders of animals used in science, it's our job to investigate and to expose the cruel and fundamentally flawed experiments that have been conducted right here in beautiful Aotearoa.
We are pulling those blinds wide open and shining a light on the hidden lives of animals who are suffering in secret, in labs and research facilities around the country.
We are working hard to build a case studies section on all of the many species used in science in NZ. The first species we've conducted an investigation into is dogs. Keep checking back as we'll add more species soon!
