Upcoming Event in Dunedin for World Day for Animals In Labs 2021


World Day for Animals in Labs is coming up and in honour of this important day, we're hosting a special fundraising event in Dunedin!

Event line up:

Shave for Change

One of our dedicated supporters, Rosa Ellen has been raising money for NZAVS by promising to shave off her beautiful hair live at this event (more on Rosa below). 

Special speeches

Speeches by Tara Jackson (NZAVS Executive Director), Carl Scott (Co-organiser at Dunedin/Ōtepoti Vegan Society - DŌVeS), and Rosa Ellen (NZAVS supporter and star of Shave for Change). 

Silent Auction 

Our World Day for Animals in Lab's silent auction will come to a close during the event and the winners will be announced. The silent auction will be available soon online and will contain cruelty-free and vegan-friendly goodies!

And more!

There will also be live music and vegan-friendly drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and vegan kai to purchase.

It will be a fun evening where you can mingle with like-minded people at the same time as helping raise funds that will fuel important campaigns against animal testing in NZ!

 

Event details 

When: Friday 23rd of April 2021, 6 pm start (note: World Day for Animals in Labs is the next day, the 24th April 2021).

Where: Kind Company, 333 George Street, Dunedin. This is a 100% plant-based cafe and botanical cocktail bar in the heart of Dunedin city.

Cost: Free, but please RSVP to nzavs@nzavs.org.nz as there will be limited spacing on the night. A maximum of 80 people can attend so RSVP quick so you don't miss out!

“I am 62 years young, proudly vegan and I love my hair. I also love animals so, I am going to shave it off to help raise awareness about animal testing and animal cruelty,” Rosa Ellen.
