The end of the financial year (31st March 2022) is fast approaching which means it’s nearly time for you to get your donation receipts in order for tax purposes.
What you need to do:
NZAVS has been a registered charity since the 19th of April 2021, which means that you are eligible to claim back tax on donations made since then (donations that were $5 or more).
Our General Manager, Georgette Singer will be working hard from the 1st April 2022 to send ALL receipts to those who have donated this past year (this includes our regular givers). Please be patient while we work our way through this large task, and please also check back in your emails for receipts you have been sent individually, before emailing us for a duplicate of these receipts.
To claim back on your donations, you will need to submit an application with the IRD. They have information on their website to help guide you through the process of submitting a donation receipt.
If you don’t want to deal with the IRD and you want to regift your tax rebate – we’ve made this easier for you…
Did you know that nearly $250 million of donation rebates go unclaimed every year in New Zealand?
And the reason why? It takes too much time, or we just don’t get around to it. Imagine how much good that money could do if it was donated back to your favourite causes.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce our partnership with Kiwi social enterprise, Supergenerous - a platform automating your donation rebate claims. No more time spent on manual processing or dealing with the IRD.
AND for every donor that signs up this month, they’ll also donate $5 to NZAVS!
If you want to save time AND give more to NZAVS so we can keep up our important work ending animal experimentation in NZ - Supergenerous is an awesome option for you!
So, head on over to www.supergenerous.co.nz and use code sg5-NEWZ682 to not only save time but give more, without reaching into your pocket.
