Before voting opens, we want to make sure that our supporters and the wider public know how future MPs and leaders of Aotearoa, New Zealand feel about animal experimentation, an issue that is close to all of our hearts!

We sent a short questionnaire to the main political parties in Aotearoa and their candidates to find this important information out. Read on for an overview of the results.

Which candidates participated in our questionnaire?

We invited nearly 400 candidates to participate in our questionnaire and we also sent out multiple reminders. Unfortunately, some candidates didn't even care enough to reply.

Here's an overview of how many candidates from each political party filled in our Animal Testing Questionnaire:

The Opportunities Party (TOP): 48%
The Green Party of Aotearoa/New Zealand: 34%
The New Zealand National Party: 24%
NZ Outdoors Party: 21%
New Zealand Labour Party: 11%
New Zealand First Party: 7%
ACT New Zealand: 5%
Maori Party: 0%
