Promoting Cruelty-Free Cosmetics

We're helping Kiwi's use their purchasing powers to divert funds away from animal testing by shopping cruelty-free!

Why we work to end animal experimentation

This is some text inside of a div block.

Together, we want to build a better world where no animal is harmed to create products that make a profit from cruelty and pain.

When we devote our dollars to brands and products that are free from animal testing, we vote for the cruelty-free world that we all want to live in.

At NZAVS we do everything in our power to help direct your hard-earned dollars to those brands that are trying to do good by animals so that you can live in good conscience, cruelty-free.

Join the hundreds of caring Kiwi's who have taken action against cosmetics testing on animals by signing our Cruelty-Free Pledge!

SHOP CRUELTY-FREE

We want to empower Kiwis to use their purchasing powers to change this and demand a shift away from animal testing by shopping cruelty-free.

This is why we created our very own Cruelty Free Guide.

The NZAVS Cruelty Free Guide lists beauty, skincare, body care and household products that are genuinely cruelty-free and available to purchase in Aotearoa, New Zealand. It is also the only NZ-based cruelty-free verification.

Multiple different cruelty-free lists exist; the point of difference with ours is how ironclad our cruelty-free criteria are.

Companies listed on our Cruelty Free Guide can't be affiliated (in any way whatsoever) with animal testing - we leave no room for sneaky loopholes!

Check out the Cruelty Free Guide here.

Together, we’ve already secured a ban on testing cosmetics on animals in NZ. You can read more about this victory here.

However, this ban does not include:

  • Using animals to test an ingredient that is used in cosmetics but is being used for another purpose.
  • Using animals to test household products such as washing powder.
  • The sale and importation of cosmetics that have been tested on animals in NZ.

So, there is still work to be done to close these loopholes and we'll need your support to make that happen.

What's Next?

Together we are pushing for a ban on the importation of cosmetics that have been tested on animals.
