John is based in Otepoti, Dunedin. Having spent many years breeding Hereford cattle, he’s now a vegetarian caring for a family of twelve cows living out their natural lives, eighteen freeloading Muscovy ducks and a large cat called Pyewacket.  He’s also deeply enthusiastic about music and runs an on-line business, Totally Wired.

Prior to NZAVS he was the Finance Manager for the Deep South Province of the Green Party and was deeply involved in two election campaigns. From this experience he learnt how important it is to provide activists with the support they need, and how to build consensus.
